On the date 30th August 2010, Malaysia had received a news
where the famous businesswoman Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya, her driver Kamarudin,
bank officer Noohisham Mohamad, lawyer Ahmad Kamil Abdul Karim were reported
missing after they went to Banting for a land deal. Their disappearance made
headlines nationwide. Sosilawati was last seen in public on August 28, 2010
when she attended a buka puasa event at Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz,
Shah Alam. Sosilawati Lawiya failed to return home after telling one of her
daughter that she would be going to Banting for three days. Police said her
family had not received any threats on her life or a phone call for ransom.
At 5 pm Sosilawati and her driver , Kamarudin were leaving
the office from Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur to Banting for a land deal.
Sosilawati’s daughter lodged a police report after the millionaire could not
contact. Police found the car Perdana V6 belong to CIMB Bank official at the
road in Petaling Jaya. Sosilawati’s car was found at the car park Flat Angsana,
Pangsapuri USJ, Subang Jaya.
Meanwhile, he
lawyer’s car, Ahmad Kamil were found in residential areas facing Dorsett Hotel,
Subang Jaya. All four victims were failed to be detected. Five suspects were
detained at a farm in Banting. First arrest made involving five people including
one woman, aged nineteen years old and fourty- five years old in the poultry
farms Ladang Gadong. Then police arrested a lawyer, Daruk K. Patmanaban and his
younger sibling who is also a lawyer. Both of them were detained to assist the
investigation of the missing of Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya.
Police arrested another nineteen years old teenager in
poultry farms at Ladang Gadong. Bukit Aman( Federal Police) Criminal
Investigation Department (CID) Director Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin confirmed
the four victims were brutally killed and then burnt at the farm and their
ashes were strewn in a river nearby. At six thirty pm police found bones
fragment believed to be specimens of the river Panchau. The Telok Datok
Magistrate’s Court sentenced U.Suresh and K.Sarawanan to seven years’ jail
after they pleaded guilty to disposing evidence in the murder case.
The Shah Alam High Court amended the seven years’ jail on
Suresh and Sarawanan for disposing evidence in the murder case to 20 years.Director
of Forensic Division, Chemistry Department, Lim Kong Boon, confirmed that the
DNA profile of Noorhisham was obtained from the blood stain on a cricket bat.
She also confirmed that the DNA profile of Kamarudin and Ahmad were obtained
from blood stains on zinc sheets found in the Sungai Arak oil palm plantation
in Banting. This crime that had been done by Pathmanaban were claimed as cruel
and his action was believe guide by his greediness.
